The National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense Education Program (CAE-CDE) have developed guidelines for four year baccalaureate institutions interested in Cyber Defense. This program is jointly sponsored by the National Security Agency (NSA) and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As stated on their program site, the goal of this program is to “reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in cyber defense and producing professionals with cyber defense expertise.”
The department of Computer Science at Rowan University has created a curriculum consistent with these guidelines, by providing cybersecurity education based on Cyber Defense knowledge units.
